4km Bridge over the sea connect 2 islands in Ly Son will be built

(Featured content | Thien Tan Group) – In planning phase of Ly Son island, Nikken Sekkei Group (Japan) has proposed to Quang Ngai province to build an over sea bridge connect Lớn island (Big island) with Bé island (Small island) at this island district.

On July 19th, Provincial Standing Committee of Quang Ngai has agreed the idea of building an over sea bridge connect Lớn and Bé island, at Ly Son district by Thien Tan Investment Construction JSC in collaboration with Nikken Sekkei Civil Engineering Ltd (Japan) proposed in the planning process.

Shared with, Mr.Huynh Kim Lap – Chairman of Thien Tan Investment Construction JSC (Owner of planning Ly Son district) said, experts from Japan and leaders of Quang Ngai province have agreed the idea of building an over sea bridge connect Lớn island and Bé island.

“Over sea bridge is expected 4 km long, designed to build prestressed concrete, adhere to the principle of preserve the pristine nature heritage and adapt to climate change. Fund mobilize from NGOs, ODA,… Mr.Lap shared.

Nikken Sekkei Group is planning Ly Son island district in the orientation of protecting the landscape environment, save up land for tourism and        develop marine ecology.

Experts from Japan proposed to regenerate 3 beaches at Lớn island of Ly Son, establish concentrate cemetery, build collective and treatment of rain water to serve the need of living for citizens and tourists, minimize the impact of project to environment, use electrical cars to transport tourist and goods on the islands,…

Ly Son island planning ensure green coverage rate reached 40% of the area (native plants are selected to resist storms and have shade…), can form some save land apartment buildings to serve the development of marine eco tourism…

Last month, Quang Ngai province has approved the expenditure estimates of nearly 18 billion VND for planning construction of Ly Son island until 2025.

Quang Ngai is calling for support from NGOs to restore original state    of pristine beaches around the island, waste management, clean water… to create an attractive destination for tourist.


According to leader of Quang Ngai province, Ly Son is an outpost island, important location for protecting national security. Due to development requests, planning has to adjust accordingly, landscape environmental protection, connects Ly Son to neighboring regions, therefore we have to base on inherent strengths such as farming, fishing and develop services, eco tourism.

Statistics of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province, the first 6 months of this year, province has welcomed 420.000 passengers, up 16% compared to the same period last year. Of these, nearly 80.000 visitors to Ly Son island with total revenue estimated at 355 billion VND.
